The CCF booth offered free face painting, stickers, coloring and a megaphone craft for kids. Volunteer teen, Patrick, played the guitar to entice folks to the booth. LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Tuesday, October 19, 2010
BellevueBusinessJournal.com, Bellevue

Support Ross Hunter For State Representative in the 48th Legislative District

As a longtime resident of the 48th Legislative District and a Board member of the Children’s Campaign Fund I enthusiastically support Ross Hunter for reelection to the State House. Ross, who in the words of the Seattle PI is “blunt, imaginative, impatient and productive”, is a champion for children worthy of our endorsement and support.

Ross Hunter shares my values on the importance of children as he makes rational economic decisions based on his strong support for education and his caring for children. He has cut billions while preserving key programs like low-income childcare, allowing single parents to transition from welfare to work.

Representative Hunter is a rational, moderate legislator who doesn’t duck difficult decisions.

His solutions are thoughtful and he has the ability to make things happen even in tough economic times! More political information is available on his website and his substantive policy work may be found on www.rosshunter.info which contains a recently posted jobs strategy and budget options document.

Visit the references yourself and vote for CCF’s endorsed candidate in the 48th!

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Opinion, Letters
The Spokesman Review, Spokane

Energy of a fighter

Sen. Chris Marr brings unwavering energy to the policy realm, particularly around the importance of health care for children and quality education. He has fought for K-12 and higher-education funding. He has been a strong champion in the Senate for the children of this state. Sen. Marr is the right choice for children.

Sen. Marr has been a resident of Spokane for over 25 years. As a state senator, a family man with two children, a businessman and a community leader, he knows his city and county as few others. He has a long history of civic involvement including leadership on issues that make Spokane a better place for families, such as downtown revitalization. Sen. Marr is the right choice for Spokane.

Marr is a proven leader. His ability to gain bipartisan support in his first bid for elective office in 2006 illustrates his collaborative style. Sen. Marr is the right choice for Washington state.

To ensure that our children have the best opportunities to succeed, we need a strong and proven advocate to represent their interests in the Legislature. Sen. Chris Marr is the right choice.
