RELEASE: Major Investment Empowers Children’s Campaign Fund Action to Advance Child Care Platform

SEATTLE– The Children’s Campaign Fund Action (CCFA) has received a game-changing $1.23 million investment from Ballmer Group and others to advance its mission of building political power for children, youth, and families. With these new resources, CCFA will continue its work with the Association of Washington Business Institute to educate lawmakers and candidates on the importance of investing in high-quality child care, with the goal of helping candidates talk about early learning issues more effectively on the campaign trail and elevating early learning as a significant issue in the 2024 electoral cycle.

“We are thrilled by the opportunity that these new partnerships will provide to build a movement for children, making child care a high priority in Olympia.,” said Children’s Campaign Fund Action co-chair and former State Representative Ruth Kagi.

Additionally, CCFA will partner with MomsRising and One America Votes to launch a poll on child care, develop a shared platform, and organize debriefs with gubernatorial and state legislative candidates on child care. CCFA will share the results of this poll with gubernatorial candidates, state legislative candidates, and the media. CCFA will also work in collaboration with other influential partners, such as Child Care Aware of Washington, to build a political movement to advance legislation to pass a living wage for child care providers and a plan for all Washingtonians to have access to affordable child care.

“Across the state, Washingtonians struggle to find affordable and accessible child care,” Children’s Campaign Fund Action Executive Director Alex Galeana said, “Kids can’t wait. We need bipartisan solutions for high-quality care across Washington now.”

These efforts are  part of a new strategic vision for the Children’s Campaign Fund Network (CCFN). CCFN is composed of the Children's Campaign Fund Political Action Committee and the Children’s Campaign Fund Action, a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization. We build political power through electioneering, education, and advocacy to enact transformational policy change for children, youth, and families. As one of the longest-standing nonpartisan PACs focused on children’s issues in the country, now paired with an affiliated advocacy arm, the Children’s Campaign Fund Network is mobilized to advance policy issues for children, youth, and families.
